"The owners are amazing, rooms are always clean, and have the best mattresses (I travel for work, and the mattresses here are better than anywhere else I've stayed) They are very pet friendly, quiet and the best deal in town. Aff..."

Welcome to Canadian Inn

The Owners

Sam and Kristy’s journey into hospitality began in Colorado. Kristy brought two decades of hotel experience, often envisioning a more personal approach to property management. When opportunity arose, they embarked on a cross-country search, ultimately falling in love with the Canadian Inn and the welcoming, tight-knit community of Canadian, Texas in early 2022.

They arrived to find a motel with a rich history dating back to 1960, but one that needed significant revitalization. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of learning, rebuilding, and serving guests – a true work in progress – all while embracing life in their new town with their three dogs.

Their mission is to restore the Canadian Inn to its former glory, a welcoming landmark that makes both visitors and the friendly community of Canadian proud – the true “Oasis of the Plains”.

What's with all the cast iron?
As you enter the lobby, you can't help but be whelmed, possibly overly, by the dozens of pieces of cast iron cookware and collectibles hanging around the perimeter and on shelving on either side of you. It's just a small representation of the owners' personal collection of vintage, restored cast iron, something that grew from a preference in cooking to a hobby, to an obsession (?) and even a side income. Personal collection aside, the business inventory has numbered over 1000 pieces at times, and Sam and Kristy have been seen as far as Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio and other states buying and selling cast iron.

There is a makeshift showroom in one of the non-functional rooms currently, with the intention to make a more permanent vintage goods store. You can learn more about Sam Ciara's Cast Iron Sales and Restoration on his Facebook page here, or feel free to contact him directly for any questions specific to cast iron: (806) 621-5090.

*Please note: While the motel is available 24 hours for guest needs, there is not always someone on-site for cast-iron questions/sales. Please call ahead.
